"Swing bed" is a concept developed by Medicare to help with underutilized hospital beds and the lack of nursing home beds in rural areas. A patient being treated for an acute condition can remain in the hospital for prolonged IV therapy, wound care, and or rehabilitation therapy services. The patient stays in the same bed, receives the same continued skilled care, and is discharged with a higher level of functioning and wellness. If you feel that you or your loved one could benefit from these services, please contact us today. Iron County Medical Center, your stop between hospital and home.
